Louisiana Online Therapy

Hello Louisiana! Whether you live in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Hammond or Kenna, we are here to serve you. Online Counseling gives you options and we are excited announcing that we can now serve the entire state of Louisiana through Teletherapy.

Teletherapy has become a popular need this year since it gives the resource to receive support in the comfort of your own home. It also eliminates commuting time and gives you more time to be with your family.

Teletherapy is providing therapy through a live video connection, over the internet or phone sessions. We provide the same treatment as you would in person, it’s just done through a computer or phone. Our platform is private, in order to protect your privacy and confidentiality.

It can be a beneficial option for adults, couples and families in the comfort of your own home.

Here is our Louisiana Therapist…

Mat Crawford, LPC

My name is Mat Crawford. I contract with Therapy for Families. I am a laid back, warm, and compassionate proponent for kindness and patience toward ourselves and others. I have been working as a licensed mental health professional since 2008. As a  client-centered therapist I strive to meet you at whatever point you are in life and move forward at a pace you are comfortable with. I am passionate about utilizing good self-care to manage our mental health. While I don’t consider myself to have a faith-based approach to therapy, I do have an extensive background working with clients on incorporating faith/spiritual practices into a mental health care routine. I  enjoy learning how your personal spiritual/religious beliefs and practices impact your life. I am fully open to working with people of any spiritual persuasion, including none. I have extensive experience working with members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Is online therapy as effective as in person therapy?

The research shows that Teletherapy is as effective as in person therapy, especially,  for individuals who assess at this level of support. With our growing world, individuals are needing easier access to therapy in the comfort of their own home to help them with relationships, mental health, boundaries and tools for coping with our modern fast paced world.

Benefits of Teletherapy:

  • Makes mental health resources available to the homebound and people in remote geographic areas.

  • Increases privacy and reduces stress for those who are anxious or embarrassed to receive counseling in person.

  • Eliminates travel time and travel expenses.

Our therapists, support and assist clients to connect with their authentic self and learn to love, not hate, themselves. Also, behaviors will be evaluated that are not currently working for them. We utilize multiple therapy modalities based on the client’s personality and problem. The therapy modalities are all research-based and are showing success based on the particular problems and the client.
